Searching the sky for flying pigs: DH stood up for me for the first time!
Dh and I have been getting along really well lately, and I think maybe he's finally seeing (after 11+ years of marriage) that I am overall a pretty good person. SD20 has done everything in her power to alienate me, push my buttons, and get daddy to choose sides. And he usually chooses her side.
Well, I guess he texted her asking her to come for a visit. Her response was to ask whether "your wife" was going to be there (I don't allow her in my house any more). I guess she figured I would be gone and she could take over my house and my kids, along with running the show with daddy. He did not call her out for calling me "your wife" and only responded that she could stay in a hotel (which I'm sure he would fund).
Well, SD20 posted that text message string on a public site for all to see (if she made it private she wouldn't get the adulation of the world). I was steaming! So I sent the link to DH and basically said how disrespectful it was for him to allow her to call me "your wife" without saying anything, as well as generally disrespectful of her to air this on a public site.
FOR ONCE, he AGREED with ME!!!! Woohoo. He said he understood that the only reason she posted that was to hurt me and that he told her that when she hurts me she hurts him and so if she cares about him she needs to stop.
You could knock me over with a feather! I never thought this day would come. DH is going to have a VERY affectionate wife tonight!

Oh, she posted even better shit than that, but it was about DH not me, and he has long since proven she could say anything she wants about him and he would make excuses, so I didn't even bother to pass those tidbits along. He won't look himself because he doesn't want to know.

If my SD had done this, I wouldn't have waited for DH to handle it. I would have and she would have had an earful about disrespect. DH can handle it, but they never seem to ream these brats a new one and this just continues to allow them to think they can treat people however they like.

Seriously, I wonder how she'd feel if DH sent her a text like that, asking her if "her boyfriend" would be there if he (DH) would be going to visit her and then he aired it on a public website like that. I wonder what she'd say to her dad about it.
Seriously, so many of these SDs seem to be able to dish it, but they can't take it.
