My dh and I have been living across the country for 3 years due to the military. Dh's ex has been alienating sd's from both of us in that time (we also got married there). She has been offended by any contact via text or email when it comes to the kids, been lying to them, not encouraging contact with their dad, then telling them he doesn't care, absolute cruel behavior. Her children have been acting out and her family is helping to keep us apart by going with her lies. They act like they want what's best for the kids, but they clearly are looking out for their own best interests.
