Good news doesn't last...but this entry does. Very long.
And I guess I knew it wouldn't. I almost posted a few days ago that Ms. Perfect herself had put her royal stamp of approval on Mic and I taking ss to church for Easter. SS is 8 now, and I don't agree with pushing the Easter Bunny (at all), as it takes away from the memorial of our Resurrected Savior. But I was willing to let it go, and was thrilled to find out Monday night that ss would at least get a dose of both.
Then came Tuesday. When Mic was able to reach SS, he said that he couldn't come to visitation Wednesday night, as he had baseball practice from 6-8. Mic stood his ground, though, and as it turned out it rained all day yesterday anyway. But how many times does he need to hear his son say baseball is more important? Of course, Ms. Perfect wanted to get on the phone, but Mic said no, that he wanted to talk to ss, and that she could talk to him when they were done. When they were done, Ms. P. didn't get on the phone. So she calls back some 20 minutes after ss went to bed, but I didn't answer it (as it was my phone, not Mic's she called), and she hung up after 3 rings anyway. If she wants to be psycho, that's her perogative, but it's not happening on my phone, no siree.
So yesterday, Mic's at work. He gets a phone call from ss (this, sad but true, always indicates things are not going to go well). They talked for about 10 minutes. Then, a few minutes later, ss calls back, saying that if he was going to church with us on Sunday that he wasn't allowed to come to visitation last night. The poor thing got so twisted and confused as to why this was the case, he put Ms. P. on the phone. She wanted to switch us last night for Sunday, because she had errands to run and it was more convenient for her (which is all she ever thinks about). Mic told her that if she wanted to switch that it was fine, but he needed it in writing (which is not unreasonable-see some of my other blogs). She said absolutly not. He said that he would proceed with the visitation last night. Mic was a bit frazzled by the whole thing. I told him he was doing the right thing, and that if she had any intention of not screwing him out of seeing his son for 2 weeks, so would've had no problem putting this in writng.
Then SS calls back again (mind you, Mic is at work...can't spend all afternoon on the phone- but it's his kid, he can't just not answer for fear of an emergency, etc.). SS asks why we don't want him to come over for Easter. What is wrong with this woman?!? The stuff she puts in his head, I swear, I wish she just choke on a honey bun or something. Of course, Mic explains that he is more than welcome here anytime. He explained that he was dissappointed about Easter, too, but that he didn't want to go 2 weeks without seeing him. Mic told him that all Ms. P. had to do was put it in writing. Again, she gets on the phone. She spewed all sorts of lies to Mic. She said that "someone" (that's me) is filling his head with bullshit. She would never try to screw him out of time with his kid, and wouldn't lie to him. She said "I'm standing here in front of my son, do you think I would lie in front of my son?" Mic said yes. He said that if she wasn't trying to screw him out of time, to just put it in writing, and if not he was picking up ss at 5:30.
So Mic went to the pick up/drop off point. At 5:29 (by my clock, as I was on the other line with Mic when she called) she called to say that they were coming into town, and could Mic just meet her at her dad's. Mic said no, that he was already there. She got nasty and hung up on him. 15 minutes later (enough time to circle our small town several times), she finally shows up with ss.
So Mic had the visitation, and made the most of the time they had. Then it was time to drop him back off, 7:00 pm according to the paperwork. SS says that Ms. P. said 7:30. So ss tries to call her to let her know to come pick him up (if we were to keep him that extra 1/2 hour, she could tell the court we were the ones running late). Her phone was off. So we sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes, she finally calls. It was 7:30 by the time she got there. I guess she thinks that she can just make up the times now. Hey, who cares what the judge says, right?
We're documenting everything, it's all we can do. In the meantime, though, it's getting harder and harder not to tell her what a fat, unkept, pyschotic, manipulative, selfish, gold-digging, child-ruining, dreadful excuse for a mother she is. Ah, just had to get that out.
