Just Wondering

So I was reading another post and herewegoagain posted a list that insipred me to create this blog. We have had a lot of trouble with BM calling and emailing about things that are none of her business. Herewegoagain set out the following list of reasons for BM to call...

1. child is doing poorly in school
2. child has an activity in school
3. child is sick/hospital, etc.
4. child is in trouble w/the law
5. I have an emergency and child wants to go w/you instead of babysitter.

My question is...Can anyone add to this list? We are getting to the point that we may have to give a list to BM and I want to be sure that we are not overlooking anything.

I would add changes in schedule, pick ups, drop offs, etc. Also, if there are any problems that the child is having emotionally or something that should concern each parent. I would also add gifts to that list - we had that problem this past Christmas where SD ended up with doubles - could have been avoided with some communication.

What about if the kid gets invited to a birthday party that ends up being on a weekend that they are with the other parent??? Does that deserve a call or email?

I would think that would be okay if just sending the invite home with the kids doesnt work. That kinda fits in with "changes in plans".

Our rule:

8-5 calls (diring work hours) are to be emergency only. Emergencies are:

SS is
Bleeding (perfusly)
Broken (bones etc)
or Missing

other than that, it can wait until after work hours. NON emergency calls can consist of:

Requests to trade days, or arrange help to pick up from school
School functions/ concerns
Major bahvioral issues
Arrange trading gear (snowboarding, baseball... etc) He only has one set, that we share between houses. So sometimes we have to call and arrange to go get it if we are taking him, or depending on who is taking him to practice.

Idol chit chat is reserved for functions that they are required to attend together. NOW, she calls me every single day just to talk. That is a different story.
