O/T Failure to launch
I've been noticing lately I have 2 co workers who are in there late 20's both still live at home with mom and dad. They both complain about their parents but neither will move on their own. Both make over 35k a year but both claim that they can't afford to move out. I know for a fact both blow their money on themselves. Ok that's none of my business but my question is where did we go wrong? When did it become acceptable to freeload off parents when this generation is pushing 30 years of age?

As a person in her
As a person in her mid-twenties, I would say that I don't know anyone living with their parents unless they absolutely had to. I love my parents, but its stressful and slightly embarrassing, which is why moving in with them would be a last resort for me. Maybe theres some student loan debt, etc?
I have noticed that my generation is terrible at managing finances.
The female co worker is 26
The female co worker is 26 with a bachelors degree her parents paid for and the male is 28 with a masters paid for by his parents. Now neither of them will move out. Wonder why? sarcasm they have it too good, they'd rather have their parents yelling at them about moving than actually move. I suggested they share an apartment so they both could afford to live away from mom and dad or find roomates. The only reason the suggestion was given is both have come to me whining about mom and dad and asking what they should do.
My brother and I were allowed
My brother and I were allowed to live at home as long as we had a job, bought our own food, and respected my parents. I moved out at 21, came back a year later, then moved out for good. My brother moved out at 24 (he felt like a loser, lol).
My parents made us get jobs once we were of age (15) and we had to pay for our own car insurance and gas if we wanted to drive. I hated it at the time. None of my friends had to do that! But now I understand and thank them for making us do that because we do have good work ethic and we know how to pay our bills.
