MA Child Support laws
Does anyone have any advice regarding MA child support laws? While BM undergoes some surgery for the summer, we will be having SS4 full time. She gets free health insurance for him and due to her situation, she is also getting free child care for the next year. She told my fiance that if she gets social security she won't need him to pay her child support, if she doesn't then she thinks that we would still have to pay her child support, just not as much. That sounds like complete BS to me. If we have him full time, there is no reason that we should be paying her anything. If she had to pay for his schooling or something, that would be a different story. But since she will not have any expenses for him at all, except for the like one day a week, that she has him. I refuse to let my fiance pay her child support. She has tried to con child support out of him before for paying for things such as daycare etc. and each time he caves because she plays the poor me card. While I understand that yes it is tough being a single mom, she does live with her boyfriend and he pays her bills and she still collects child support from my fiance, in MA is like 1/3 of your gross pay not your take home and not with taxes taken out. Is anyone familiar enough with MA child support laws that they can direct me somewhere that says if we have the child full time that we should not pay her child support? Or am I just wrong?
