She won't get the medicine

Last week SS was put on ADD meds, great! We've gone through a ton to help him out at school and such (we make up for what he doesn't do at his mother's house on our week=very stressful). So, Friday they get the prescription. She (bm) had the kids last week. She, bm, didn't call at all after the appointment (we picked them up this afternoon) which is unusual for her because there is usually some drama that goes with getting the boys for the week (she couldn't possibly make this easy on us).

I'm probably speaking too soon but so far there has only been one interruption from bm this week (and the phone went to voice mail and, better yet, no message). What a change from last week (we were interrupted daily with her drama). I'm sure I haven't seen the end of the interruptions but at least dh has started taking charge. He made an appointment with the dentist for the oldest ss to get a referral for braces (this was done the last time ss went to the dentist but bm failed to follow through). I was very surprised to see that dh did this.

New to this SM thing but frustrated

Okay, I'm new to being a step-mom with partial custody. We, my DH and I, have very full work days so we've just let the BM have the two boys for the weeks and we had them on weekends. Things changed a month and a half ago due to the 10 year old failing 4th grade and BM not saying a word to us about it (she never told us about the report card or anything). We assumed everything was fine with the 10 year old until a letter arrived from the teacher.
