Putting my house on the market

I am done. I am getting my house ready to sell-for those of you that know me, DH's ex lives right across the street.

It's really not HER that bothers me as much as SD and SS being over there too. They have had nothing to do with DH for years, and now if he is out working in the yard, SD walks to the road to say hi and he is overcome with joy. She is not allowed in my home, so they meet in the street.

Do any of you ever feel like you project your own bad situation with your own SM's onto your step situation? Or that you use your own experiences to "color" your responses to others?

I have noticed lately on here and in real life that there are people that have done an about face on their viewpoints since they are having issues with their own stepparents.
It's like a switch has flipped.

1) You see a license plate that spells out “luvsthemall” and you are immediately taken over by a homicidal rage.

2) You consider the word “sarcastic” to be a compliment.

3) You get in an argument with your DH and your first thought is “ You are about to get some mashed potatoes to the face, buddy.”

4) Your kid doesn’t like first grade, but you just tell him “You knew what you were getting into” while offering no support or advice whatsoever.

5) The sight of Thumper the rabbit makes you sick to your stomach.

OT-Christmas Tree Decorating

I have been looking at magazines (Better Homes and Gardens, etc) and they always have these PERFECTLY decorated trees. In some of these houses, there are children living there. Do you think in a back room they have a "secret" tree that has all of the construction paper Santas and clothespin Rudolph's that their kids made? LOL

I would LIKE to have a tree like that, but I have all of this stuff that the kids made when they were little, ceramic ornaments, stuff like that. D

o some of you do two trees?
