Multiple Accounts Not Allowed
I'd like to clarify my statement regarding our Terms of Use (ToU) and members having multiple accounts. I didn't make it clear that the motivation behind this post is that several ex-members who had their accounts disabled for violating our ToU chose to ignore that we revoked their access to this site by creating new accounts on the site.
Having multiple accounts on this site is in violation of the ToU under which access to this site is granted. Some members who have not been causing problems on the site also have created multiple accounts on this site. We are in the process of identifying these members in order to notify them that they must choose a single account and have all others disabled so that they are in compliance with our ToU. If you have multiple accounts, please save us some time and effort and PM us with the account(s) you would like us to disable. It won't be held against you in any way. This time.
FYI, and to those ex-members, and all others who have or may choose to violate the ToU in the future (paraphrasing the ToU, not to be construed as an addendum or modification of said ToU):
StepTalk grants you a limited and revocable license to access and use this site, governed by our Terms of Use, which you agree to comply with when you create your account and as long as you use this site. If you do not follow the provisions spelled out in our ToU your license to use this site is immediately revoked and your account will be disabled. From that point forward, you (the person, not just the account, and any other person acting on your behalf or as your agent) are no longer authorized to use this site in any way.
If you choose to attempt to access this site after your license has been revoked your actions will be considered trespassing, among others. You may also be violating several Internet, Intellectual Property, and other laws, depending on what you do from that point forward.
Internet Service Providers do, and have, taken action against people that use their services to abuse others and/or commit crimes (even if the person is never prosecuted). All they require is reasonable evidence. By violating the Terms of Use (ToU) of a web site you are violating the ToU of the service provider (read there ToU, it's clear). They tend to not like that and are usually very supportive in the matter.
StepTalk.org is our property and we will defend it if forced to. Web site Terms of Use are legal instruments and are enforced by their owners every day. That's what Internet and Intellectual Property Attorneys, among others, are for.
So, again, please read our Terms of Use. If you don't agree with it, don't use this site. We hope that most people wishing to use this site for what it was intended for will not have an issue with this.
