I will be marrying my fiance next year and I find the behavior of his two children to be hostile.  Their BM is a spiteful person.  She showed no affection in the marriage to my fiance for over almost 2 decades, living separate lives, living on separate floors in the last five years of the marriage. Yet he hung in there until his children had grown to adulthood to leave (his daughter had graduated college and his son graduated high school).
