Your son is not a tool, but you are!
In a previous post I wrote about BM needing to call SS9 every single day to “help him study” his spelling because he got ONE bad test grade. She wanted to call him outside her parenting time per the CO, and my SO said NO. She persisted, she manipulated, she begged, she threatened court, etc. My SO still said NO.

Chores or no chores?
SS9 has a set of chores in our household. He has a list of them on the fridge, he can check them off for each day when they are completed. Once he completes them all for that day, he can use his screens (he earns screen time when he brings home good grades on his homework and tests.) His chores are simple, feed the cat, change liter box, make bed, pack or put away school bag, do your homework. He has a hard time focusing, but all in all, these shouldn't take more than 10 minutes a day outside the homework.

New Here! BM drama, per the usual
I’ve been putting off posting here for about a year now, but I think I need some support. I have a kickass therapist and a great friend group, but I know no other step parents closely. My father was one to my two siblings but we’re not close anymore.
