How to deal with my man's ex wife?

racheld81's picture

So I need advice on dealing with an ex wife. She takes so much away from our relationship in arguments, time (cause she needs him to do this or that or he just offers to do this or that), he offers to pay for different things cause she claims broke, yet works full time plus over time as a bartender, lived with us for months because she was in an abusive relationship (till he kicked her out because he believed she stole our spare set of keys) and even though he claims he never loved her but got married because he was attached to her son (not his) their marriage has been over for over 8 yrs. I just found out that I am pregnant with risk because of a fibroid in my uterus, a cyst that is bleeding out on ovary, polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis, having needed emergency surgery because of what I listed (my dr. never thought that I would conceive plus I've yet to see him to see if the baby is ok). Since last night she stayed here because her brakes needed changing and also she needs insurance on the vehicle that she can't afford. He offered to have a friend do the brakes and to pay her first month of insurance for the last 3 months. She has yet to get a quote for insurance and won't have brought her vehicle to get brakes done unless I let her stay the night. We got up at 9:30 am. My BF went and picked up his friend to do her brakes as she ran errands of her own. When she came back I offered for her to use our computer to get quote online since she doesn't have internet but she claimed to be too tired. So I left her alone to sleep in the spare room that she never moved any of her clothing or personal items out of! Well, at 2 pm my BF and friend are still working on brakes since 10 am and needed another part, so she went to get it (taking her time to stop at other places as they waited) and when she came back she blocked my BF from coming in shaking saying she was intimated by me and thinking I was mad at her. Now mind you I invited her to stay, tried to help her get insurance, and doing so much more. It is now 9:26 pm her vehicle isn't done. We had to drop her off at work. I have spent the whole day alone with the dog and in severe pain from my condition and my BF hasn't had 15 mins to help me with anything! On top of which he is so pissed over me complaining that he don't want me to even mention her name and talk to him about the issues that I have between the way he deals with her and how she manipulates him! I don't know how to handle this. Any advice?

I'll just echo Echo here.

OP, your BF's wife/ex-wife (are they divorced??) is living with you, in a room that still has her stuff in it, and you're pregnant by this fella?

WHY do women makes these choices?? WHY?!?!?!

OP, he still loves this woman. Plain and simple. I'm not sure if you or she is the "other woman" here, but clearly... one of you is.

lol, Echo. My question is, what is the STEP-issue? I get the BF issue, but where does step-parenting come in here?

I know people are going to jump on me for this, but here goes.

IF this is a real post my advice to you is to get an abortion.
You are risking your life to have a baby with a man that puts his ex-wife before you and your needs.

You have got to be joking. I agree with all the obvious comments.

Why would having her even at your house be a thought? Hell no. You haven't taken his ex wife to raise. You don't have a ex wife problem. You have a boyfriend problem. He is still with this woman, emotionally, mentally, and prob even physically. And the kid is 18?

If this man cannot let go, and let this woman be gone, I highly suggest you consider moving on. She is running the show, and he is happy to let it happen. I hope you aren't contributing financially to supporting her. How blessed can a man feel when he can have both his fav women in the same house as sister wives. And only one making any contributions. Oh my dear I hope you can get this worked out, for you and your sanity, and self worth, and your baby.
