Seven days...

Last-Wife's picture

In seven days, we will be dumping Princess at her dorm. (And a sigh of relief was heard...)

In seven days, I will be back in work mode, starting teachers' meetings before the students begin on the 19th.

In seven days, I will be the only woman in the house.

In seven days, my house will show no sign of all the cleaning I did over the summmer.

Updates- skids and biomom, DH and annoyance

First, I'm feeling pissy today. We're FINALLY having birthday cake for Gibby. He turned 9 ten days ago, but due to work and family illness, today is the first chance we've all had to be together- us and grandparents. Princess has decided the party should be a last get together with her grandparents before she goes to college. She also has invited her boyfriend and 2 friends over. She did this without consulting her dad or me.

Skids' decisions...

Loca Grande cried wolf one too many times... As much as Loghead and I tried to appeal to them, none of them wanted to see their mother today before going in for her "surgery."

She keeps calling it a surgery, but I am now guessing it's just the biopsy for the growth on her thyroid. I'm not really sure. Heck, when I talked to her husband last night, he didn't even seem sure as to what was going on! Sadly, that makes me question what's really going on with her. Is this just another of a MILLION ploys this woman has made to get attention from her kids.

BM has surgery tomorrow- what's the right thing to do? Seeking advice, suggestions....

Loca Grande goes in tomorrow to have a cyst removed on her thyroid. The doctors will be testing it for cancer. This comes just 7 months after her breast cancer scare. It is also the 5th cancer "scare" in 12 years.

OT- Any elementary teachers out there?

It's time to start thinking about going back to work. Saw the supply list at the super center. Always have to pick up a copy so I can remember what I asked the students' bring. After doing this for 15 years, you'd think I could remember! LOL

Just wondering- how do you use spiral notebooks in your classroom? Especially in regards to reading or writing notebooks... Thanks for the tips!

Okay, I'll build this from another post... Gibby and I just got back from meeting with a dietician this morning. Gibby turned 9 yesterday. He weighs 113 pounds and is 54 inches tall.

I love him to death! But his nickname, Gibby, is cause he looks and acts like Gibby on iCarly. He's just a cute, round little thing. (Like his mama!)

But the dietician told us we are on the right track. Limit portions. Watch sweets. Push fruits and veggies. Get exercise. The idea at this point is to maintain, and just let him catch-up as he grows taller.

Question: How legally binding is a document from court-ordered mediation?

When Loca Grande tried to get custudy changed to her 2 years ago (after 10 years! of us doing ALL the work), the same judge from the original ruling told her she was crazy and sent us all to court-ordered mediation.

Things like sports, college, cars and updates in visitation were discussed and plans were documented. We even made a plan for graduation parties.

The biggie was braces. Since she backed out of paying any part of Princess's braces, she volunteered to pay all of PITA's ortho bills.

It's like the movie, Groundhog Day- long rant about SD

I wake up and each day feels like the one before. The kitchen's a mess, but it was clean when I went to bed last night. There's more laundry to do. Meals to prepare.

Princess snacked again late last night, and left the mess on the counter. She, Gibby and I are the only ones home this week, until late tonight. I got up and went about my morning chores. I left the mess she made on the counter. Gibby was running around, helping with the things he does.

CRAP. My mom had an argument with Loghead today

Loghead is staying at my parent's house this week for training for his new school district. Their house is only 20 minutes from the conference, instead of our 2 hours. It's in the little town where we used to live, so he was excited to be there and see old friends and eat and shop at his favorite places.
