Hi Everyone, I hope you're doing well. Just wanted to give you all an update. As you may recall from my previous blogs, I'm BRCA-1 and my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 38. I've been getting checked every 6 months since I was 25. 6 months ago they found something and I had a biopsy, which was negative. When I went for my 6 month follow up they found more and it was a bigger area of concern, so they opted for a surgical biopsy where they go in and remove all of the tissue in the area.

As many of you know, my life has been a $hit sandwich and it seems like a new layer of meat is added weekly.

As you may know from my previous blogs, I am BRCA-1 positive (the gene that greatly increases your risk of breast and ovarian cancer) and my mom was diagnosed at 38. Thus, I get checked every 6 months with alternating MRIs and Mammos. I had an MRI last August that found something suspicious, and they did a biopsy which was thankfully negative.

Per a previous post, a bunch of us expressed an interest in a step/activity group, especially for the challenge. I know some people use fitbit, apple, android, or other devices, so the app Activity.Club allows us to all join together on one interface. You can do daily, weekly, and other types of challenges.

Today is SS's 6th birthday and I miss that little stinker. I haven't seen him since Christmas. With DH laid off, it's been too expensive for us both to fly down once a month like we used to, so he has gone once after Christmas and before now. We do facetime almost every night, which helps.
