What are you doing for this "holiday" ?
I am debating on whether or not I should acknowledge Valentine's day.
DH and I have been distant and more like roommates who don't even like each other, but this morning he gave me a kiss and said Happy Valentine's Day.
So, maybe I should surrender my resentment and irritation today and go get a card or a little something for him? I suppose it cannot hurt.
Usually one of us grabs the skids some candy or a stuffed animal.
Do you do anything?

Not sure if this is clinical depression or just an extremely large bump in the road...
Do you ever feel so stuck in a rut that you literally can barely function and plaster on a smile through another work day?
It has been non stop snowing, I have a car that is hanging by a thread and I know I don't have the money to fix it I get slapped with a large repair bill, I owe the IRS from the last 2 years when I was on Obama Care and did not get a tax return (I had to pay back) so I will not have a tax return again this year.
Sex obsessed SS
10 year old SS has seemingly overnight gone from sweet to out of control.
These are the phrases I overheard yesterday while he was hanging out/playing video games with his friend (who apparently is also out of control).
"Suck my wiggly d*ck"
"F*ck you"
"Suck my skinny d*ck"
... amongst other colorful language.
The only time DH addressed it was when SD tattled on her brother, then DH told SS and friend "we do not swear in this house." That worked beautifully. eye roll.

O/T Tell Me About You
I have never stuck around an online forum for this long, and now that I have, I find myself curious about ya'll.
I know we all enjoy our anonymity - but I figured a random questionnaire might be fun for anyone who wants to participate.
Beginning with yours truly:

Parent pick up.
Went to pick up SD from the classroom the kids are in at church on Sunday...
The "teacher": SD, mom is here!
SD: SHE IS NOT MY MOM! I TOLD YOU SHE IS NOT MY MOM! I TOLD YOU WHEN YOU ASKED ABOUT MY WEEKEND THAT MY STEPMOM TOOK ME TO A MOVIE! MY STEPMOM!
I laughed so hard. Nothing like the wrath of a small child. Especially in a religious setting. hahaha.
Have a good week, everyone.

O/T early fertility testing.
Before I jump into this blog post I want to add a disclaimer: I am not trying to get pregnant right now due to my less than ideal situation in life at the moment. I know some people, having followed my blog, will be quick to jump in and say "not a good idea!"
What I am doing is trying to get some answers because I do plan to be a mother at some point and I am in my 30's now so I feel it is the appropriate time to look into it...
Anyway, I decided to start some testing to get an idea of my fertility or lack thereof. I wonder if any of you have experience with this?

O/T Pet Insurance?
Pet Owners:
Do you have pet insurance? Why? Why not?
I am looking into a plan that covers accidents/illnesses (i.e. emergency room, blood work, xrays, cancer treatments, etc) but not routine stuff (vaccinations, yearly exams).
My dog is still young but is a breed that is prone to health issues. I do not have the kind of savings that would allow for me to spend a large amount on medical treatment for her, so it seems to be a good idea. A little peace of mind.
None of my co-workers insure their pets and looked at me funny when I asked their opinion.

SS and church
DH and I recently started attending a new church. We really like it and we brought SS and SD a few weeks ago. They have a children's group so the skids went with other kids their age and did activities instead of sitting through the service. SD really loved it but SS was very hateful and negative about it and said he never wanted to go back (too boring, other kids were "dumb", etc.). (He would rather sit home and play video games). BM does not practice religion or have an opinion either way (although I imagine she leans more toward SS not engaging).

O/T. When your job is great except for the money.
I have been applying for jobs for awhile now, begrudgingly.
Of course, if I didn't live in step hell, where a large chunk of income goes to kids who are not mine, I may have been just fine at this job, but I digress...

O/T EASY dinner recommendations anyone? Please.
I cook about 3 or 4 nights per week. I work full time so the other nights everyone fends for themselves. Problem is we eat the same thing over and over, I am not one to get creative in the kitchen, I don't really enjoy it. Everyone is getting tired of taco night, spaghetti night, chicken and veggie night and repeat. I try to limit the super processed meals like hamburger helper, etc, but sometimes it happens.
